.The Consolidate Research Group HERAF – Hermeneutics and Phenomenological Anthropology H69 – of University of Saragozza organizes the XII edition of the Spanish Society of Philosophical Anthropology (SHAF), which gathers together different thematic fields. The congress will take place from September 28th to 30th at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, Campus de San Francisco, University of Saragozza, Spain.

With the title Pathologies of existence: anthropological and philosophical approaches we invite scholars, Phd students and graduate students to conceive talks that crosses the broad horizon between sanity and illness, as well as concepts such pathos, on which all the human existence is grounded, moods, emotions and feelings. Thinking to human passions as different ways of being open to the others, of meeting the others and getting involved into human relationships, can help in understanding ourselves and our being in the world and being with the others. With the expression existence we encourage presentations that transcend the dualistic approach typical of Cartesian philosophy and that have characterised different philosophical and anthropological approaches in the last century. We would like to invite all the participants to think to the origins of our philosophical and hermeneutical tradition, focusing on a concept of human that can inaugurate a rich and important dialogue with other fields of research, such as phenomenology, psycho(patho)logy, philosophy of culture, medical anthropology, cultural anthropology, just to mention a few of them, trying to address one of the tasks of our age: giving philosophical tools to understand properly the complexity and the problematic of our time in the frame of an interdisciplinary approach.
